Tasting Notes: 

Hearkening back in style to the earliest days of Merlot production in Washington State, the 2023 presents the classic lines, beautiful primary aromatics, and solid structure of bygone days. Well-built and with a strong presence, the wine's generous core of blue plum and bing cherry ride on a chassis of supportive tannins and acid. A perfume of dark-fruited aromatics entice the senses, with berry compote, black raspberrry, and licorice. Delicate baking spices of nutmeg and clove accent a sense of fresh ginger bread in the nose. Beneath all is a current of loamy minerals and silted earth, with a rush of fresh acid. The tannins land like snowflakes on the tongue, slowly melting after they make contact. With good poise, light grip, and a slow release of its delicious fruit, this Merlot will delight lovers of the old days.
